Google has announced that it will be shutting down AdSense Content Ad Content Unit from March 1, 2022. This is due to "decreased use of content promotion service" and "positive customer feedback and performance results from ad-only ad content format." Google.
Allows you to embed a widget on your pages that check the consistency of your web page content and display relevant articles or pages from your website in the widget box. Recommended content recommendations are based on topic similarities and are tailored to the reader.
However, it goes away and that means that if you do nothing, Google will change your Personalized units into ad units. This also applies to Matched Content units with the "Make Money on Ads" option closed.
If you do not do any of your Matched Content units to show ads only from March 1, 2022. If you do not want that, you should remove the Matched Content code from your pages before this change can take place, Google says.
Along with these changes, here are some things you need to know:
Rename Content Matched to "Multiplex ads", to match the ad format found in Google Ad Manager.
Removing the current eligibility limit for Matched Content. The new format will be available to all AdSense publishers.
Uninstalling Sites and Matching Content Page on the AdSense Interface.
Updates Matched Content Unit Editor to show new ad formats only.
(Label Partners Only) Closing Ad Content Only Matched for AdSense Lab and marking it as downgraded.
